A Little Help: Household and Yard Help

A Little Help is a Colorado nonprofit helping older adults to thrive, mobilizing community members to serve older adults.

Gardening and Yard Work:
-Watering indoor and outdoor plants
-Weeding and planting
-Spring and fall yard maintenance
-Raking leaves
-Shoveling snow (requests must be received by A Little Help by October for the coming winter

-Handiwork/In-Home Assistance:
-Changing light bulbs
-Light cleaning, including sweeping, vacuuming, and dusting (on a monthly basis)
-Making simple repairs

We paid the $225 to this agency in October 2017 after being told that if my mom wanted her snow shoveled for this winter she would have to pay by this date. After the first few snow storms that her sidewalks were not shoveled I called the agency to ask what was happening. They told me they did not have any volunteers in Wheat Ridge and because they were a non-profit they could not do anything unless they could find one. I received a call from their agency telling me that they thought they had found volunteers and would refund my money and call me back if this did not happen. As of today April 12th no one has ever shoveled her sidewalks nor have they called back and/or refunded her money. They did offer her a few other services like someone coming to her home to chat with her but I'm unsure how they would do that if they don't have any volunteers in her area nor did she ever receive any other help. I feel like they just took our money knowing they did not have any one in Wheat Ridge to
