I called APS today and I thought the case manager I spoke with was very nice, took a lot of time with writing notes and asking questions about the case, etc. I was pleasantly surprised, so great job.

Logan was very polite and helpful. It was explained that a case/report number is not given unless a case is opened. All reports are logged and can be viewed even if a case is/was not opened.

An initial call to APS is not a call i'm excited about. My concern is - the receiving end of the call should be welcoming, and not intimidating. Sometimes calling a report in through intake is the best route. Local Police Officers are extremely busy with life threatening reports. I did not feel this report warranted a police visit. I respect man/woman in blue, and I want them on calls that are truly life threatening e.g., accidents, robberies. But when you make a call to intake you are almost left with no option but to call 911. Rude customer services. It is really sad. I'm putting this on the record.

L caled to report abuse and they could have cared less. Did not even want to know what happened and asked me al sorts of personal infi, like do I have a medical POA and who is my doctor. What does that have to do with a sick, frail, disabled person that was abused? To add to the ineptness the lady informed me the abuse would be reported to the county where I lived, not the county where the abuse occurred. The lady then called me back with a mental health number, I told her she was now harassing me and I don't appreciate that they do not help or investigate serious patient abuse.

I called three times to go through the phone tree; the phone would ring and then hang up.

The employees answering the phone are very rude. They spend the time on the phone lecturing you as to the numerous reasons why they will not help and the very strict narrow guidelines they follow to make a decision to investigate. They do not and will not provide you with a case number so you can prove you have called and made a report. I have called numerous times to various state APS agencies and I always got a case number but Denver county is very special and will not provide a case number. The Denver county APS employee I spoke to would not, refused to allow me to provide all of the information regarding the person I was calling me about and when I attempted to give it anyway I was rudely told she had all of the information she needed and she would not take more. I had to call back and give more information to another employee. The employee spent most of the time telling me what APS DOES NOT do rather than helping by telling what APS DOES do. They ask if you had a magic wand what yo
