BRIEF: Programs will focus on Alzheimer's care

Aug. 30--The Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter will host several free programs in September in Lamkin Hall on Ivy Tech Community College'sBloomington campus.
The first of the "Conversations About Dementia" is set for 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday. It is designed to help families, including people with signs of dementia, talk about challenging topics related to Alzheimer's and dementia, such as going to the doctor, deciding when to stop driving, and making legal and financial plans.
"Communicating with People Who Have Alzheimer's and Managing Behaviors" will take place from noon to 2 p.m.Sept. 18, also in Ivy Tech's Lamkin Hall.
A two-part program on "Living with Alzheimer's for Caregivers: Late-Stage" -- part one on Sept. 30 and part two on Oct. 7 -- will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at First United Church, 2420 E. Third St. in Bloomington.
