DNRT seeks community input on equipment for people with disabilities
The Standard Times - 2/24/2021
Feb. 25—DARTMOUTH — The Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust is considering the purchase of an all-terrain wheelchair or other piece of adaptive equipment to loan to visitors with physical disabilities so that they can enjoy some of the local nature trails.
On Wednesday, the nonprofit announced staff are seeking input from community members with physical disabilities regarding the type of equipment and features that would provide a safe, comfortable and positive trail experience for them.
"Our hope is to provide more support so people of all abilities have the opportunity to get outdoors in nature," the announcement said.
People with disabilities who require adaptive equipment, as well as any caregivers, are asked to complete a brief survey.
