Community Hospice aide leads doll drive for dementia patients

Florida Times-Union - 12/26/2019

Laura Monise, an aide at Community Hospice & Palliative Care in Jacksonville, is leading a toy drive to collect dolls for dementia patients.

Monise said she got the idea when she gave a baby doll to an Alzheimer's patient.

"It brought tears to my eyes when I saw how this toy doll decreased her stress and agitation," she said. "I feel providing dolls for dementia patients puts caring and structure back into their lives."
