Free Support Services for Caregivers!!

The AAA Caregiver Support Services program is providing a counseling program called PEARLS (Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives) and Powerful Tools for Caregivers. PEARLS will provide 1:1 coaching to caregivers 60 and older who are experiencing mild to moderate depression over the course of 3-4 months. Powerful Tools for Caregivers will provide a 6-week educational class to caregivers. It is an evidence-based program that has been shown to help reduce stress, improve emotion management, increase self-confidence, and increase use of community resources. Respite care will be available for those in need to attend these classes. To qualify for services through this program, a caregiver must be of the following categories: 1. Adult family members or other informal caregivers (18+) providing care to individuals 60 years of age and older 1. Adult family members or other informal caregivers (18+) providing care to individuals of any age with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders 2. Older relatives, including parents, (55+) providing care to adults ages 18-59 with disabilities
