Adult Protective Services programs are located in county departments of social services/human services, which receive and respond to reports of mistreatment and self-neglect of at-risk adults.
As a result of the report, APS can provide protective services which may include:
-counseling and casework services
-referrals to community service providers
-arrangement of appropriate services
-assistance with applications for public benefits
-and initiation of probate proceedings.
This is a government agency/program.
