Denver Family & Senior Homeless Initiative information provided by: the DRCOG Area Agency on Aging

The Family and Senior Homeless Initiative partners with homeless families and seniors to help them transition from homelessness to long-term stable housing by providing them with financial assistance and a team of mentors from the community to work with them through the transition.

This program is named Housing First since vulnerable individuals can engage in services and go on to live stable, independent lives if they are no longer battling the challenges that come with living on the streets. Therefore, housing a family or senior becomes the first priority, which then allows them to address additional needs.
