Colorado Legal Services is a private, non-profit corporation. They provide legal advice and representation to qualified individuals on a no-fee basis. Services include representation in court and at administrative hearings, negotiations with adverse parties and attorneys, advice and counseling, assistance completing forms and applications, referrals to appropriate agencies and organizations, preparation of legal documents and educational workshops. Areas of representation and advice include but are not limited to: foreclosure defense; bankruptcy where a home is at-risk, wages are being garnished or utilities are being shut off; collection matters; landlord tenant disputes; public benefits disputes including those involving Social Security, SSI, Old Age Pension, Aid to the Needy, Disabled, food stamps, Medicaid and Medicare; and divorces, restraining orders in domestic and elder abuse cases, custody disputes and legal separations (under narrow circumstances). Colorado Legal Services also has an identity project which helps assist those in need of documents to prove their identity in order to obtain health care, public benefits, housing, transportation and employment. This is a non-profit 501(c) 3. Agency/Program does not provide transportation services. Accessibility/adapted features include: Wheelchair access, wheelchair accessible bathrooms.
