CDOT to upgrade curb ramps at 13 intersections in Greeley

Sept. 21--The Colorado Department of Transportation, with contractor Can Do Concrete Construction of Greeley, will start work Monday to upgrade curb ramps at 13 intersections in Greeley.

Some curb ramps along U.S. 34 and U.S. 85 do not meet new Americans with Disabilities Act standards, according to a Colorado Department of Transportation release. The upgrades will consist of widening, sloping and adding slip-resistant textures to the curb ramps.

Work will be done 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday through mid-December at the following intersections:

* U.S. 34 and 47th Avenue

* U.S. 34 and 35th Avenue

* U.S. 34 and 23rd Avenue

* 28th Street and 1st Avenue

* 22nd Street and 8th Avenue

* 19th Street and 8th Avenue

* 6th, 5th and 4th streets and 8th Avenue

* D Street and 8th Avenue

* H Street and 8th Avenue

* U.S. 85 and 22nd Street and Frontage Road

* 14th Street and Frontage Road

Single-lane closures are expected from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during construction. According to the release, pedestrian right-of-way and 24-hour access to private driveways and businesses will be maintained. The construction materials will be fast-drying, according to the release, for full pedestrian and vehicle access within 24 hours of each ramp's completion. Lane closures or weather-related notices will be posted a week in advance of construction, according to the release.
