Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce speaker series continues

Middleboro Gazette - 6/7/2018

MIDDLEBORO - Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce Business Institute, Rockland Trust, and Massasoit Community College will present a free Monthly Speaker Series, "How the Americans with Disabilities Act applies to your website" on Tuesday, June 26 from 7:30-9am at Massasoit Community College in Middleboro.

Recent changes in the way the government views the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) within the context of website accessibility has led to a major shift in the responsibility for website owners. This presentation will provide you with the information you need to understand and deal with the following issues: 1) Understanding what web accessibility is and how it applies to you. 2) Learning how to make your website accessible to the greatest number of users possible. 3) Reducing or eliminating the risk of ADA-related lawsuits related to your website. These answers and many more will be answered.

The presenter is Mike McKenna. Mike is a life-long resident of Middleboro and founder of shotgunflat, inc., a website design and development company based in downtown Middleboro. Mike has been working in internet technology since 1995, and he has overseen the development of hundreds of sites. In addition to his work at shotgunflat, Mike is a member of the Downtown Improvement Committee and the president of the Middleboro Youth Soccer Association. This a free workshop but you must register in advance at www.cranberrycountry.org under Events.
