n Care for the Caregiver Series: A six-part series will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month through Sept. 26. People living with Alzheimer's disease are welcomed during this time, along with their family members and care partners, to gather in a supportive, non-clinical setting to chat, relax, enjoy refreshments and socialize. n Caregiver Group: Offered by Families First Health & Support Center, 100 Campus Drive, Portsmouth, the first Thursday of every month from 2 to 3:30 p.m. For any individual or family who is managing the care of a loved one with dementia, either at home or in a care community. Meetings are run by trained volunteer Dick Chamberlain and Families First social worker Cindi Shanley. There is no cost to attend. - Fit Over 50: Aerobic exercise for more "mature" folks, held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Fridays throughout the summer in the Spinnaker Point gymnasium, provides fit folks over 50 the opportunity to work all major muscles groups via low-impact, cardio exercise instruction. The class provides a thorough 10 minute warm-up followed by 20 minutes of active, low impact movement. Balance work to enhance cognition and prevent falling finishes out the class. Big Band, music of the 50's and instrumental, up-beat jazz provide the soundtrack to this social, dedicated group. Class fee: $5/member or non-member Spinnaker-pay as you enter. - Strength & Stretch: offered from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Mondays/Wednesdays in the upstairs Spinnaker aerobics room, guides participants through different resistance training exercises using weights, tubing and body weight. Excellent for enhancing strength, building bone, and decreasing the possibility of falls, this class offers a 5-10 minute warm-up followed by 30 minutes of resistance work, adapted by individuals according to their level of fitness. A calming stretch completes the class. Great for those new to weight training or those seeking an instructor-led program. Class fee: $5/member or non-member of Spinnaker - pay as you enter. - Priority One Fitness TV show: 'Getting Started' series airs from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Monday-Friday, on Comcast channel 98 in Portsmouth-New Castle. This Priority One series was created for seniors and those who are new, or returning, to fitness. Getting Started offers basic, low-impact moves and simple routines. Designed to be "just enough" for those at home who are looking for a low intensity exercise program that is practical for most all levels fitness. A great option for beginning a weight loss program as well as for senior fitness, Getting Started removes the barrier to entry. - Lamprey Health Care: Senior Transportation Program provides rides to essential services for individuals over the age of 60 and adults with disabilities living in Auburn, Barrington, Brentwood, Candia, Danville, Deerfield, Durham, East Kingston, Epping, Exeter, Fremont, Hampton, Hampstead, Kensington, Kingston, Lee, Newfields, Newmarket, North Hampton, Northwood, Nottingham, Plaistow, Raymond, Sandown, Seabrook and Stratham. Access to essential services makes it possible for seniors to remain self-sufficient and in their own homes. Our handicapped-accessible buses take seniors and adults with disabilities to the grocery store, pharmacy, doctor, or bank and provide opportunities to socialize. Drivers will assist passengers on and off the bus and with their bags. The service is door-to-door and reservations are made by calling (800) 582-7214 or 659-2424 Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- New Hampshire Senior Companions: volunteer within their communities visiting socially isolated and frail seniors or adults with disabilities. They enable those they visit to live independently by helping with errands, providing transportation to medical appointments, encouraging exercise, assisting with simple tasks, giving supportive friendship, and providing respite for caregivers.
