BRIEF: Police: 1 dead in fiery Mansfield crash

July 15--An early morning crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 has left one person dead, according to authorities.
The crash, with occurred at roughly 5:25 this morning, involved a tractor-trailer and a Ford F-250 pickup truck, state police say. The tractor was disabled in a breakdown lane along I-95 northbound in Mansfield when the truck crashed into it, according to police.
The tractor-trailed driver, an unidentified 56-year-old man from Providence, was sitting the vehicle when the truck crashed into it, authorities say. The driver of the pickup truck, who has not yet been identified, was "driving at a high rate of speed in the breakdown lane" before impact, according to authorities.
The F-250 caught fire upon impact, and the driver was discovered dead by authorities. Troopers assigned to the State Police Foxboro Barracks and the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office are investigating the crash.
