Fultons recognized for service to Riverside

MIAMI COUNTY — At its board meeting on April 17, the Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities (also known as Riverside) recognized Joyce Fulton for the many years she and her late husband, Bill, served as treasurer for Friends for Riverside.

Friends for Riverside is the committee that funds educational programming during Riverside’s levy campaigns. The local levies fund services offered directly through Riverside, as well as through Riverside’s provider partner agencies.

The board presented Joyce Fulton with a signed and framed resolution, which outlined the Fultons efforts since the inception of Friends for Riverside in 2000. While the Fultons served as treasurer, Friends for Riverside funded six levy campaigns with each one passing successfully.

Riverside serves more than 1,000 people in Miami County with developmental disabilities. Riverside’s mission is to empower people with developmental disabilities to live, work and play as full members of our community. Riverside’s vision is to build a community that supports and values people of ALL abilities. The organization offers service coordination and funding for residential care, adult day services and job training. Riverside also provides case management, early intervention, physical/occupational and speech therapies, recreational activities, Special Olympics programs, community housing coordination and other valuable services to people of all ages who have developmental disabilities.
