Caregivers Invited To Alzheimer's Workshop At ETSU

East Tennessee State University's Office of Professional Development will partner with the Alzheimer's Regional Resource Center to offer a Dementia and Alzheimer's Progression and Treatment Workshop on three Tuesdays, April 11, 18 and 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at ETSU's Innovation Lab, 2109 W. Market St.

Approved by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, the 12-hour certification course is intended for those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, a news release explained.

Sharon Durnin, director of the Alzheimer's Regional Resource Center, will lead the workshop, which is an overview consisting of communication, behaviors, personal care and family support.

Health professionals and family members or other caregivers are encouraged to attend. Textbooks and materials are included in the $95 registration fee.
