Otters, Jacob's Village to team up on 12th annual exhibition fundraiser

April 12--A 13-year partnership with the Evansville Otters has brought $147,000 to Jacob's Village, a nonprofit that provides affordable and accessible housing for people with disabilities.

The Otters will host their annual preseason game benefiting Jacob's Village at 6:35 p.m.May 5 at Bosse Field. The Otters will play the Florence Freedom.

Tickets are available at Bosse Field and all G.D. Ritzy's locations. All ticket revenue will support Jacob's Village.

During the game, there will be a "Diamond Dash" promotion sponsored by Tracy Zeller Jewelry in honor of Mother's Day. Women 18 and older will be allowed on the field after the seventh inning to "dash" for a $1,000 Tracy Zeller Jewelry shopping spree.

The game also will feature free popcorn, door prizes, clowns and more.

"We look forward to the game and having our partnership with Jacob's Village continue to grow," said Joel Padfield, vice president of sales with the Otters.

The Otters, defending champions of the Frontier League, will host their second and final exhibition game at 10:05 a.m.May 10 vs. Southern Illinois.

The regular season begins on May 12 at Southern Illinois, with the home opener at Bosse Field coming at 6:35 p.m.May 19 vs. Gateway.
