BRIEF: Woman rescued from Kalkaska fire dies

Feb. 28--TRAVERSE CITY -- A woman hospitalized following a Kalkaska County fire has died.
Family members told Kalkaska police Mary Jo Tester, 50, died Monday evening in a Grand Rapids hospital as a result of injuries from a house fire and complications from a prior medical condition, according to a release from the Kalkaska Department of Public Safety.
Mary Jo Tester, who is paraplegic, and her mother-in-law Grace Tester, 63, were both rescued by police in the blaze last Wednesday at their home on Division Street in Kalkaska.
No funeral arrangements have been made at this time.
Kalkaska police, Michigan State Police and Kalkaska Township Fire continue to investigate the fire.
