COMMUNITY Baird Nursing Home recognizes volunteer for 10 years of service

The Baird Nursing Home recently recognized volunteer guitarist and singer Attila Jacobs for performing for its residents every Wednesday for more than 10 years.

“I love spreading joy through music,” Jacobs said. “I consider myself an instrument of the Lord.”

Jacobs can perform any artist residents might request, including Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.

“The residents really enjoy Attila,” said Kristina Lotz, activities director at Baird. “They love his music, and he gets involved with the residents while he is playing. He is so dedicated and passionate about his music and putting on a great show every week for residents.

It is truly amazing that he continues to volunteer his time after all these years.”
