BRIEF: Florida company acquires Wichita nursing home

March 05--A Florida firm has acquired a long-term care facility in Wichita, as well as 13 others in Kansas.
Mission Health Communities said in a news release Thursday that it has taken over operations and management of Deseret Health and Rehab at Seville, at 1319 Seville St. in southwest Wichita.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Tampa company said it has changed the name to Seville Health & Rehab and will make other changes to the facility.
"We will be implementing a number of positive, much needed changes to the property, including making upgrades and renovations, to ensure we're able to deliver the same high quality care provided at all Mission Health Communities," Stuart Lindeman, president and CEO of Mission Health, said in the release.
The company said in the release that it also will take over 13 other facilities in the state that were owned by Deseret Health Group, based in Utah.
With the Kansas acquisitions, Mission Health said it has 31 facilities that provide subacute nursing, skilled nursing and rehabilitation services in seven states. Besides Kansas, Mission Health's other facilities are in Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.
